In 1949, LIFE photographer Gjon Mili visited Picasso in Vallauris, France. He showed Pablo some photographs of ice skaters with tiny lights affixed to their skates jumping in the dark. Picasso was immediately inspired, these photos were the result.

Wow, these are some really old pictures! I had no idea people have been doing light graffiti for so long.
Hmm, some potential I suppose. Can’t see him ever making a name for himself though.
Wow!
yeah and ppl think that light graffiti is new

Seems like some people dont fully understand how sarcasm works…
LOL @ dR dMO. Made me laugh. xD
responder “fan” uses to sarcasm to reveal that he/she doesn’t recognize sarcasm when it’s used! Now that’s funny!
Really cool. Thanks!
I’m betting that Mr. Picasso will be a success.(LOL @ dr DMO!)
Graffiti (singular: graffito; the plural is used as a mass noun) is the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property.
Light Graffiti is a stupid name for it, but these are cool pics anyway. I had no idea Picasso did that.

There’s a beautiful story of when someone wanting to buy a picture from Picasso asked why he charged so much when the canvas, oils and brushes only cost 50 dollars.
Picasso took out his wallet gave the guy a fifty and said “here you do it”.
Keep that in mind when your clients ask why you charge like a wounded bull. Because you’re special!
Thanks for the post by the way. Oh and its ironey not sarcasm.

These are awesome! Amazing! I’ve tried this a few times but can neverthink what to draw (is draw the right word??) Does anyone know if you can buy prints of these?
LOL
Okay, so some of you don’t think this guy will make a name for himself.. not realizing these pictures are from like 60 years ago.
And then some of you think those people are idiots because this is after all, Picaso, the artist who is very famous indeed…
And I think those people are idiots because this isn’t Picaso but someone doing Picaso-like art.
And others will think I’m an idiot because I didn’t realize the people in the first two groups were trolls..
And then the people from the first group will think that last group are idiots because trolls live under bridges and don’t have Internet access.:)
I can’t believe there are so many people who do not know Picasso!
Eryc-That is Picasso so I don’t know what you are talking about, it explains above that the photographer took pictures of Pablo Picasso for LIFE magazine.
